New project released: Supybook – Supybot handbook

September 13th, 2008

Supybook 0.0.1 has been released just now. The goal of this project is to provide a sort of handbook for Supybot, covering the basic administrative tasks you need to perform on the bot, and to allow a smooth start into learning deeper details. The intended audience is owner(s), admins, channel operators, as well as regular users.

I started writing this about a week ago on 2008-09-05, so don’t expect the first version to be perfect or cover everything there is to be known about Supybot. This is also my first documentation project for someone else’s project, so it’s a learning experience for me in many ways :-)

Supybook will be self-hosted for now, due to SF.net rejecting the registration.

Feel free to have a glance – feedback is welcome as usual.

Released: scripts project

August 28th, 2008

After avoiding it for way too long, I’ve finally spent some time cleaning up the “scripts” project of mine. I had to rewrite the history a few times to remove account details and such (argh!).

The repository is browsable via ViewGit at: http://code.fealdia.org/viewgit/?a=summary&p=scripts. Individual scripts or the whole tree can be downloaded using the same interface.

A lot of the scripts are broken, unfinished and/or useless, so I don’t suggest you go ahead unless I told you what to look for, or you are in for a learning experience ;-)

Released: irssi scripts greplog, nickbar and xdcc-simplequeue

August 11th, 2008

After trying to submit some of my irssi scripts to scripts.irssi.org for months, I figured it would be a good idea to have a public scripts repository run by users, for the users (as it seems the people running irssi.org are busy or don’t care). Maybe it’s just me, but at least the Freenode irssi community seems quite dead. I posted this on the IRC channel:

*** ANNOUNCEMENT *** I’ve started a public git repo for user-submitted and -reviewed scripts at http://repo.or.cz/w/irssi-scripts.git – currently containing only a few scripts of mine, but if anyone has had no luck with scripts.irssi.org and wants to hop on the wagon, /msg me :)

New project released: Viewgit – a git repository browser

July 3rd, 2008

After two months of development, ViewGit has now been publicly registered and released -after wrestling SourceForge for 3 days until the website area was created. :-P

ViewGit is a git web repository viewer that aims to be easy to set up and upgrade, light on dependencies, and comfortable to use.

Freshmeat announcement is pending (project page). I’ve also posted links to the project homepage at GitWiki Gitweb page, ViewSVN homepage, and ViewSVN news. It’ll be interesting to see how much exposure the project will garner (if any ;-)GitStats certainly didn’t get much, I have received mail from two users regarding it. Oh, and there was a RFP (Request For Package) for Debian, which was promptly dropped with a claim that “upstream seems to be inactive” (AIEEE!).

Visit the homepage for more information and further links. :-)

ViewSVN 0.1.0 released

July 27th, 2007

Released ViewSVN 0.1.0. It’s a small project, but making sure you don’t screw up and managing releases (and other stuff) is such a pain.

Freshmeat announcement is pending but should appear sometime soon.
