ViewGit 0.0.5 released

November 16th, 2009

ViewGit 0.0.5 has been released.

Freshmeat announcement is pending:

Improved RSS interoperability, added a new default style, simple authorisation plugin, and git-issues plugin.

On a very much related note, the new SourceForge.net interface is a usability horror. Took me 18 minutes to figure out how to make the bloody file release. I guess I was wrong when I thought they couldn’t make releasing worse.

I like the new user page with RSS, Ohloh and other widgets though. Allows one to easily include RSS feed of a development blog and overview of Ohloh projects as well. Neat.

Freshmeat slowing down on release approval?

March 26th, 2009

I just noticed that the ViewGit release announcement I submitted almost two weeks ago is still pending on Freshmeat. Maybe they are busy rounding the corners on the new site look? ;-)

ViewGit 0.0.2 released

ViewGit 0.0.2 has just been released (download) with minor features and bugfixes. Most visible change is probably the addition of tag/head/remote labels, idea shamelessly ripped from GitWeb.

New project released: Viewgit – a git repository browser

July 3rd, 2008

After two months of development, ViewGit has now been publicly registered and released -after wrestling SourceForge for 3 days until the website area was created. :-P

ViewGit is a git web repository viewer that aims to be easy to set up and upgrade, light on dependencies, and comfortable to use.

Freshmeat announcement is pending (project page). I’ve also posted links to the project homepage at GitWiki Gitweb page, ViewSVN homepage, and ViewSVN news. It’ll be interesting to see how much exposure the project will garner (if any ;-)GitStats certainly didn’t get much, I have received mail from two users regarding it. Oh, and there was a RFP (Request For Package) for Debian, which was promptly dropped with a claim that “upstream seems to be inactive” (AIEEE!).

Visit the homepage for more information and further links. :-)
